Brad Treliving, the son of Boston Pizza co-owner Jim Treliving, has been appointed as the new general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The seasoned hockey executive brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.
Treliving previously served as the general manager of the Calgary Flames for seven seasons, where he oversaw a period of significant improvement for the team. Under his leadership, the Flames made the playoffs four times and advanced to the second round twice.
Treliving's father, Jim, is a well-known Canadian businessman and television personality. He is the chairman and owner of Boston Pizza International, one of Canada's largest restaurant chains. He is also a former star defensive end for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League.
The Maple Leafs are hoping that Treliving's hockey experience and his father's business acumen will help the team return to championship contention. The team has not won the Stanley Cup since 1967 and has been eliminated from the playoffs in the first round for the past five seasons.
